Bran, Romania – One of Romania’s most original cultural experiences returned to Bran Castle this summer as Blüesferatü – Eine Symphonie des Blues captivated audiences with a unique fusion of silent cinema, live music, visual art, and the enduring mythology of Dracula.

Inspired by F. W. Murnau’s 1922 silent masterpiece Nosferatu – Eine Symphonie des Grauens, Blüesferatü replaces the lost original soundtrack with an entirely new live score composed and performed by an ensemble of Romanian musicians. Blending psychedelic blues, cinematic improvisation, and contemporary performance, the project transforms one of cinema’s greatest horror classics into an immersive live experience.
Now presented for the third consecutive year at the iconic Bran Castle, internationally associated with the Dracula legend, the 2026 edition introduced several major artistic additions. Audiences experienced the premiere of Blüesferatü: The Animation, created by acclaimed artists Costin Chioreanu and Olivia Chioreanu, expanding the visual universe of the project beyond the original film.
The event also marked the launch of the Blüesferatü Red Blend – Collector’s Edition, a limited-edition wine produced in partnership with Stoker Wines. Each bottle celebrates the atmosphere and mythology surrounding the project, creating a rare intersection between cinema, music, visual arts, and wine culture.

Produced by Asociația Transilvania Arts & Events, Blüesferatü has evolved into much more than a cine-concert. It is a multidisciplinary cultural experience that bridges German Expressionism, contemporary blues, animation, and Transylvania’s global cultural identity.
With international partnerships, growing audiences, and an unmistakable artistic identity, Blüesferatü continues to position Romania as an innovative destination for cultural tourism and creative reinterpretations of the Dracula myth.
