October 17-19, 1448: The Battle of Kossovopolje (Câmpia Mierlei) took place, ending in the defeat of the Christian army by the Ottoman forces.
October 24, 1448: Iancu of Hunedoara was arrested and detained by Despot Gheorghe Branković upon reaching Smederevo on the Danube.
October 29, 1448: A “brother of the devil from Nicopol” (Turkish envoy) arrived at the court of Wallachia.
October 31, 1448: Vlad Ţepeş was still in Târgovişte, as indicated by a letter to the judges and burghers of Braşov.
October 12, 1449: Bogdan II defeated Alexăndrel in the battle of Tămăşani, near Roman, and integrated Moldova into Iancu of Hunedoara’s sphere of influence.
October 16, 1451: Bogdan II was assassinated at Răuseni by Petru Aron.
October 4, 1453: Boyar Manea Udrişte was still among the members of the princely council of Wallachia, without title.
October 1, 1454: Iancu of Hunedoara surprised and crushed the Ottoman rearguard under Feriz Bey at Kruševac.
October 1455: Iancu of Hunedoara’s expedition to Wallachia took place.
October or November 1456: Vlad had to submit to the Sultan.
October 7, 1475: Vlad Ţepeş was in Merghindeal, addressing a letter to Braşov.
October 9, 1457: Mihail Szilágyi besieged Sibiu.
October 15, 1457: Emperor Frederic III was besieged in the castle of Vienna.
October 21, 1457: King Ladislau, from Prague, asked Braşov to support Oswald de Rozgony against Mihail Szilágyi.
October 1460: Documents attest to negotiations for a general peace between Vlad Ţepeş and the Saxons of Braşov and Sibiu, and the Szeklers.
October 7, 1460: Vlad Ţepeş made two conditions for an agreement with the Saxons and Szeklers of Transylvania, the most important being military support against an Ottoman or Moldavian attack.
October 6, 1461: The Sultan re-entered Istanbul.
October 7, 1476: From Braşov, Vlad Ţepeş granted his significant commercial privilege to all citizens there.
October 13, 1475: Vlad Ţepeş confirmed in writing from Bălcaciu (Alba county) the receipt of his pension from the king.
October 30, 1517: A chrysobull from Neagoe Basarab mentions “the old Vlad voivode Drăculea”.
