May 11, 1453: The capitulary in Alba Iulia confirmed that the Seven Seats had come into possession of the Tălmaciu domain.
May 15, 1454: Oswald Wenczel, mayor of Sibiu, expressed fear for his city due to Turkish presence in Wallachia.
May 1458: Sultan Mehmet II sent his vizier Mahmud Pasha the Greek with 30,000 Turks to guard the Danube.
May 25, 1458: Vlad the Impaler sent a letter to Braşov from Gherghiţa.
May 17 and 20, 1462:Vlad the Impaler’s envoy was attested in the accounts of Caffa, seeking aid in Crimea, to fight the Ottomans.
May 26, 1462: King Matthias Corvin accepted the conditions of Emperor Frederic III in Buda; the same day he announced his intention to go “fight the Turks.”
May 15, 1462: Stephen the Great’s presence was attested in Bacău, supervising the situation at the Danube border.
May 1462 (late): A great Wallachian victory against Mahmud Pasha the Greek’s forces likely occurred near Brăila.
May 8, 1477: Ioan Ţamblac, Stephen the Great’s envoy to Venice, recounted the expedition to Wallachia to re-install Vlad Ţepeş.
May 7, 1553: Nicolaus Olahus became Archbishop of Esztergom and Primate of Hungary.
