Jonathan again witnesses the Count’s lizard-like climb and takes the opportunity to explore a forbidden wing of the castle. He falls asleep in a comfortable room but is confronted by three vampire women. They are about to feed on him when the Count intervenes, claiming Jonathan belongs to him and giving the women a small child in a bag as a substitute.
